Spider on the Ceiling

A dad heard his young daughter screaming in the other room and said “What’s the matter?” She exclaimed, “There’s a spider! There’s a spider!” and pointed to the corner of the ceiling. She was frozen in fear and didn’t know what to do.

The father got on a stool, pushed the spider into a jar, took it outside and threw it into the bushes. The little girl was relieved and the father sat down with his daughter and said, “You know honey, there will be other spiders and bugs that will come into our house and I can’t stop them. But don’t be afraid. We are bigger and stronger than any scary spider and when we stop being afraid of them, then we can take them and kick them out of our house.

So it is with God, our Father. We are bigger and stronger and together with God we can kick out any fear or uncertainty that can overtake our life, restoring us with the peace that only He can give.
