What We Believe
We believe that God loved the world so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins so that we could be restored to Him. "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16
We believe Jesus rose from the dead, is seated at the right hand of God and fellowships with those who love and trust Him. "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." - Ephesians 1: 18-23.
We believe Jesus and the Father are one. "I and the Father are one." - John 10:30.
We believe that salvation is a FREE gift of God and that there is nothing we can do to earn it. It is only by the grace of Jesus Christ that we are saved through faith. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." - Ephesians 2:8,9 "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" - Galatians 2:21
We believe that our faith must manifest into service to God requiring us to Love God with all our heart and show love and charity to our neighbors which includes respect, kindness, compassion, being non-judgmental, accepting ALL people in the name of Christ, forgiving those who hurt us, putting others first before us and expressing God's love by our words and our actions. "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." -Matthew 22: 37-40
We believe that God blesses us through the Holy Spirit and it is through His Spirit that the truths of God’s Kingdom are revealed. "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." - John 14:26
We believe it is only through Christ and the Holy Spirit that we can walk truly on the path of God and not through our own ability. "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me." - Galatians 2:20
We believe that the salvation of Jesus Christ is open to all people including us, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people. "After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, testified to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. Now therefore why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are."- Acts 15:7-11
We believe that God created us in His image and that our sexuality is not contrary to God’s plan of salvation for us. He created us as we are and knows us intimately. (Psalm 139)
Though others have and will reject us…Jesus welcomes us. "But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them. And the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the midst, they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?" And they were saying this, testing Him, in order that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And when they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she had been, in the midst. And straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you? And she said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go your way. From now on sin no more." - John 8: 1-11
We know that God does not condemn us..."For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son," - John 5:22
...and neither does Jesus who came to save us from the condemnation already on us. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" -John 3:17-18
We understand that there are people who will curse us and try to deny our access to God. These people will have to answer to the Lord for putting stumbling blocks in our path and trying to keep the hope of the gospel away from us. "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in." - Matthew 23: 13
But there is nothing they can say or do to keep us from worshipping Jesus Christ our Lord & Saviour. We know that these people will never love us as much as Jesus does, who welcomes us into His Kingdom. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand." - John 10:27-28
And there is nothing on earth...not even our sexuality...that can keep us from the love of God. "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38,39
We praise and thank the Lord for His unconditional love for us!
