Greetings
and welcome to The Epistle, a web magazine sharing the good news of the love
of Jesus Christ to all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer People. The good news of Jesus has been distorted in so many ways by the media, people
who don’t fully understand the real meaning of the Gospel, and even
some Christians whose negativity has given Christianity a bad name.
No matter what anyone says...God loves everyone.
A lot of pain has been caused by people spreading hate in the name of God.
God never supports anything less than true unconditional love.
So what is the real gospel of Jesus Christ?
That God loved the world so much, He sent His son Jesus Christ to bridge the
spiritual gap between us. Jesus gave His life so that we could be restored
to the Father…so that we could be close to Him.
Imagine
being friends with the Creator of the Universe.
Yes, hard to believe, but it's actually true. For many of us who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer...I ask you...why would God create us with
our human sexual feelings and then forbid us from being ourselves? It makes
no sense. Instead Christ has set us free to be who He created us to be. It
is not that we are LGBTQ Christians...but rather Christians who happen to be
LGBTQ.
This
is God's desire…to show and teach us His great plan of love.
No, God is not a nitpicker keeping records of our every wrongdoing, but rather
He has forgiven us because of the sacrifice of Christ who died for us. God
loves us and understands our imperfection, even our rebellion towards Him.
He created us to be just like Him (in His image) and even gave us free will.
He doesn’t force Himself on us…but we have to choose to return
His love.
No, God is not some faraway being who is hard to figure out, but someone who
understands you. He made you the way you are (Psalm
139) and knows every thought, every feeling, every hurt and every longing
you've ever had and Jesus feels all those feelings. He understands pain because
He went through pain and He wishes to bring you the peace and happiness of
His love. He didn’t create you…only to throw you away, but rather
He wants to draw close to you because He loves you so much. Believe
it.
The word Epistle means letter…and this letter is a message to help each
person understand more fully the true meaning of God’s love for us.
