Vision in a Dream
by Mario Gerada
Closing my eyes
to drift away
during my sleep
to visit there, the land of my dreams.
Seeing myself expressed,
in landscapes, trees and birds.
Seas and meadows,
to show my inner self.
In there I cultivate my hopes,
in there I utter my prayer.
My deepest need,
is making itself felt.
Human depth is concealed,
its richness unseen,
real beauty is masked
behind the illusion of our bodies.
Our soul is veiled with beauty,
our spirit adorned
with gems from heaven.
Society’s eyes can’t see,
its vision blurred,
superficially floating,
holding on to what it believes should be.
