“I CAN”
by
Ryan Bradshaw
He did not learn the doctrines
To which humans must conform;
Someone forgot to tell him
That one CANNOT calm a storm.
He did not learn the doctrines
In which humans must partake;
Someone forgot to tell him
That one CANNOT walk on lakes.
He did not learn the doctrines
To which humans are confined;
Someone forgot to tell him
That one CANNOT heal the blind.
He did not learn those doctrines
By which humans’ lives are planned;
Someone forgot to tell him
That one CANNOT choose “I CAN.”
