Exposed Soul
by Mario Gerada
Cheerful happy smiles
concealing weeps and
painful cries.
Tears of sorrow,
what seems solid
might melt away.
Solitude plays
silly tricks
on a fragile dream.
Journeying blind folded,
naked to the wind,
crucified amongst the stars,
exposed to a blazing sun.
Madly searching
through the sacred
and prohibited.
Overwhelming currents
sweeping me away,
my feelings are left to wither
in a wintry land.
Echoes of my moods,
haunting sounds
of my own cries.
Yearning for an embrace,
longing for a caress,
standing beneath falling leaves
whilst a rising sun
casts it’s light
on an emerging time.
