Meet Jesus

There are many people including some Christians who have tried to prevent us from drawing close to Christ who loves us. Don’t let them prevent you from meeting the Savior of the world. Listen to the words of Christ who is inviting you to be a part of His Kingdom of Love:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock and if any man hear My voice and opens the door. I will come into him and sup with him and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20).

Jesus has brought you to this place and He would love to be included in your life. But He can only do so with your permission…you have to invite Him in.

He does ask that you turn away from your rebellion to God, and by your rebellion we mean your resistance to Him. By doing so, you let Him lead your life instead of you doing it on your own. God’s ways are pure, God’s ways are beautiful and He would like you to share in His plan of love for the world.

How do you meet Him? Let Him into your heart and begin to talk to Him like you would a friend...and like a friend, you need to spend time to nurture your relationship with Him. Jesus has already forgiven you of the past and wants to encourage you to live a life of love following His commandments and those commandments are these:

"Love the Lord God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. " Mark 12:30,31

Simple yet beautiful commandments to begin your new life.

Talk to God. He will show you the way.
Read the Word of God. Never read the Bible? Start with the New Testament and find out who Jesus is. Listen to His words and see the miracles He did, including His sacrifice for us so that we could have Eternal Life.

Find a Bible teaching community of fellow believers who you can grow and share with. Ask the Lord to help you find a place that is GLBT friendly. A place that doesn’t exclude people but a place that understands that God loves all people and that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, regardless of our sexuality.

Don’t know what to say to Jesus? How about something like this, but say it with your heart -

Jesus,
Thank You for loving me so much that You died on the cross for my sins so that I could be pure before God. I know that I have done many things against You by hurting myself and other people by my selfishness. I am sorry for my sin and unbelief and thank You for the forgiveness that You have given to me. Help me to love and forgive others as You did to me. Help me to grow and follow Your commandments of love, forgiveness and compassion. And help me to trust You with my life because I know that You have a special plan for me. Stay close to me as I begin my new life with You. Bring me Your Spirit so I may know the peace that passes all understanding and that I may serve You and others with love.
Thank you. In Your name I pray. Amen!

See? Easy. God doesn’t make salvation difficult because He wants EVERYONE to come to Him. It's people who make it impossible to find God. He doesn't ask you to jump through hoops to get to Him. Even if you just turn your heart in His direction, He will run up to meet you.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. - Luke 15:20

Beautiful! That is how much Jesus loves us. Salvation is not about working your way to get His approval, but salvation is a free gift to all who call on Jesus’ name and believe in their heart that He is Lord. All He asks is that you pass His same free love to others.

Welcome to the Kingdom!
