A Man and a Snake

A man walking by saw a snake being burned in a small fire and decided to help remove it from the flames. As he was doing so, the snake bit his hand and it fell back into the fire. The man was in terrible pain, but he looked for another way to move it. He found a metal pole and was able to take the snake out of the fire. Someone who was watching went to the man and said, “That snake bit you! Why did you save it?” The man replied, “The nature of the snake is to bite, but that doesn’t change my nature, which is to help."
